About The Secret of Deadbrook
The Secret of Deadbrook was originally an interactive gallery show that exhibited at Oz Gallery in San Francisco in June of 2011. Both the interviews as well as the original paintings were displayed and viewers were invited to guess what the Secret of Deadbrook was. One lucky attendee who guessed the story in minute detail won an original painting.
While many viewers that night suggested turning it into a graphic novel, I felt that a linear story would take the fun out of being able to read the interviews in any order and to really feel like the viewer has agency in navigating the town of Deadbrook. Thus, I took Deadbrook online where it can reach a wider audience. This time, I've added more background to the story, as well as a few more hints here and there as to the Source of the evil that resides in this littlle swampy town. I hope you enjoy the Secret of Deadbrook, and best of luck with the mystery. Don't worry too much about guessing correctly..after all, the fate of humanity isn't on the line or anything....right?
